Residential Services

Our Residential Services Program empowers individuals with disabilities and their caregivers to make informed decisions about where and with whom they live.

Residential Services options include supervised or independent living arrangements based on an individualized-needs basis. We offer in-home and community support services to individuals. Rates for residential services are determined by an individual’s level of care: Basic, minimal, moderate, intensive, and extensive.

WORC Haven and Dove Villas are licensed Assisted Living Facilities, which specialize in serving individuals with developmental disabilities. We provide assistance and training in a homelike environment on a 24-hour, staff-supervised basis.

WORC Haven

WORC Haven is a 15-bed assisted living facility where residents live, share and care together. Each individual has his/her own room and privacy while two people share an adjoining bathroom – much like a suite or dorm room. We provide continuous support for each resident on an individual basis so he/she can enjoy the satisfaction of independence. WORC Haven is a HUD subsidized facility; tenants are eligible for rental subsidy based on their income.

Dove Villas

Dove Villas is a 15-bed assisted living facility that serves developmentally disabled adults in a safe, healthy environment. We provide residents with the opportunity to live in their own home with emotional and physical security, access to community and recreational activities and assistance with medical and dental appointments.

WORC Haven and Dove Villas assisted living facilities provide:

  • 24-hour caring staff
  • Home-cooked meals
  • Easy access to bus system
  • Transportation to scheduled appointments
  • Transportation to leisure activities
  • Assistive care i.e. bathing, dressing, supervision of self-administration of medication
  • Nutritional services on an individual-needs basis

  • Introduction and promotion of daily living and self-help skills, increasing a participant’s level of independence

Other Residential Services

WORC can also help create customized residential options like independent and small group living arrangement to better meet individualized goals. Respite Services can also be provided in order to establish planned or emergency care and supervision to individuals on a periodic basis when the primary caregiver is not available to provide such care for a specified period of time.

Adult Basic Education

Our Adult Basic Education program provides educational activities for adults with disabilities through recreational activities and intellectual stimulation, improving the quality of life for adults with disabilities.

The Adult Basic Education program is housed in our Education Center on the grounds of our main campus in Daytona Beach, Florida. Adult Basic Education includes curriculum-driven classroom instruction in computer skills, math, language arts, life skills, and employability skills, which enhances basic abilities, furthers independence, and prepares individuals for work and community activities.

Adult Day Training

Through supervised work and social experience training, we help participants achieve their individualized goals.

We provide training with 1:1, 1:3, 1:5 and 1:10 staffing ratios based on each participant’s specific needs. Facility-based work experiences include production contracts, wood shop, ceramics, and food service.

Ceramics Shop

Since 1990, the participants in our Ceramics Shop have created a variety of custom quality bisque and ceramic products for special events and local businesses. During the holiday season, the participants work hard to produce the Official Holiday Ornament for Daytona Beach. Designed by a well-renowned artist, a new ornament is unveiled each year as the piece is added to the limited edition, collector’s series.

Our customers include Contemporary Ceramic Studios, Daytona Beach Kennel Club, Old Spanish Sugar Mill, Staed Hotels and others.

Come by and take a tour of our studio to see a variety of unique items on display and available for purchase. If you don’t see what you want, please ask about custom products, including items with a special theme or your company logo.

Food Service

In our Food Service program, participants learn all the steps in food preparation and service in a full commercial kitchen. The program provides snacks and lunches for participants and staff and provides catering services to WORC, Inc. meetings and events as well as to community businesses. The dining hall is open at 12 noon to any community member who would like to purchase lunch from our food service program. The cost is a very reasonable $3.50, including a drink.

Several of our food service participants have used their training to secure jobs in the community.

Woodshop & RESPECT of Florida

The participants in our woodshop are trained to create a variety of products which are sold through RESPECT of Florida (a governmental state use program), a program encouraging public and government agencies to purchase products and supplies that are made by individuals with disabilities.
